Are SEO Methods As Effective As Before?

Technology is very dynamic just like Search Engine Optimization. Both have evolved tremendously for the past couple of decades. The need for top ranking in searches has given birth to a new career of Search Engine Optimization professionals or experts. Early SEO experts or Search Engine Optimization professionals as they call themselves now, are also puzzled at how search algorithms of leading search engines behave today. Algorithms are still a major challenge to many experts that strive hard to crack the code, if there is.

Many people believe that SEO is a trial-and-error method that may work or may not work depending on the technique or strategy used. Search Engine Optimization is therefore a continuous learning process, and for websites who rests on the number one spot today may slip out of the first page of searches tomorrow. Again, it is because algorithms are so unpredictable. It changes pattern every now and then. It could work in your favor now and could work against you the next minute. In fact, early effective methods have lost their power.

One SEO method that is not as effective as before is the use of Meta Tags. Google now relies more on quality contents and not hidden on hidden codes such as Meta Tags. This method has been abused by spammers and past black-hat Search Engine Optimization experts. Although Meta Tags have very little power over search rankings today, it is still useful for site and pages descriptions and keywords. Duplicating contents on website pages is not allowed by Google anymore unlike before when you can put the same content on your homepage and its web pages to increase page views. You website can be banned from all searches if you still use this method.

Buying links is a popular method in SEO before but these purchased links are now detrimental to your website's rankings. Search engines now prefer organic links that come from quality articles in blogs, articles submission sites and website contents. Keyword cramming or excessive use of keywords and keyword phrases in contents and articles are no longer allowed by search engines especially Google and this method can really hurt your website reputation as well. Swapping links are being closely monitored as well because the internet is evolving into something that has more quality content. People have learned the value of quality valuable information as well and so can easily block websites that are not relevant to their search.

Search Engine Optimization can never be denied that it is a powerful and effective way in achieving online success, it has been proven to work many times by many companies from different industries but constant monitoring is required from every SEO professional and website owner alike because the behavior search engines can change without warning. Thus, it is still strongly advised that you get the help of Search Engine Optimization services that have long years of experience with different industries online. You can easily identify these companies with their long list of past and present clients that you can ask from them as references.
