The city of Bath is a popular tourist spot, but there are things about it that people miss out on because they really don't know enough about the area. In order to help you avoid that on your next holiday outing to the area, here are ten things that you really should know about the city of Bath:

1. Bath is considered to be a World Heritage city, so if you're interested in historical sites, Bath is a great place for you to spend some time.
2. The mouth of an extinct volcano is where Bath makes its home.
3. There are natural hot springs that lie beneath it, so Bath is considered a spa city, as well.
4. Many historic writers such as Jane Austen and John Oliver lived in Bath.
5. A lot of Hollywood films, including Vanity Fair, have been shot at least partially in Bath.
6. It's difficult and expensive to park on-street there, so keep that in mind when you travel. Vehicle access in the city is restricted and there is no mercy from traffic wardens, even for those who are tourists and just visiting, so don't park in restricted areas or overstay your welcome and plead ignorance. It won't work.
7. Bath holds a half marathon every March.
8. In May, Bath is home to the International Music Festival.
9. In June, the Bath Fringe Festival takes place.
10. A lot of successful bands and solo artists have come from Bath starting in about 1980 and continuing to the present day.

If you're considering coming to the area and staying in a Bath hotel, there are many great options for you.
