It may be hard to comprehend that (FPB) Female pattern baldness can unfortunately be as common for women as (MPB) male pattern baldness is for men.
Although during our every day lives we rarely see a relatively bald women it does not mean they are not there. Ladies are more happy with the wearing of wigs than men are of toupees.
in order to cover their thinning hair. This is an acceptable part of our society. I am bald, I am a man, this I can accept and have been told that it acts towards my happy persona. For a woman though society tends to demand a full and flowing head of attractive locks. The statement "your lack of hair suits you" will probably never for a woman become an every day compliment. Considering how many ladies in the united states have an element of (FPB). Suffering is not too harsh a word to use. The beautiful people havegorgeous hair it may be shorn and short but it is all there, no patches of scull cap shining through. No whispy thinned out areas that need concealing, their beauty is visibly external and on first impressions, we can only see the external persona and not the beauty that lies within.
In most cases female hair loss can be effectively treated and in general will start approaching when in their fifties and if it is a problem for you, consult a physician or hair specialist.

I have listed a few of the more common causes of female hair loss. You may, hopefully discover the reasons for your hair loss here. As stated before hair loss can be treated with the correct diagnosis. Selfdiagnosis unless you are already aware of your circumstances should be preemptive to a specialized diagnosis.
Whilst both sexes can experience to some degree an element of baldness their causes and times of happening are not generally the same and do not always follow the same pattern. My mother lived her life with a fantastic head of hair until her very later years where a general thinning occurred. Nothing too major and as with a lot of elderly women was not too concerned. Within the same peer group she did not feel alone nor ostracized, that cannot be said for younger women as they are more of a rarity amongst their peers.
So what are the main causes of this embarrassing situation.
There is the inheritance factor. You have a balding mother, even a balding father. You can hope that the pattern will leapfrog a generation as it does with some male baldness patterns. Me I started balding at the ripe age of 21, my brother 3 years older than my self has never lost a hair on his head, so hoping for a generation gap probably won't help. Though if it missed you, your offspring may develop the pattern so be prepared to help them in any way you can. Firstly by gaining knowledge of the problem.
Thyroids.
Over or under active thyroids can cause thinning hair. Treatment can cease the thinning.
Androgenetic alopecia.
In women this form is inherited from the father and is due to the effects of androgens (male hormones) on the hair follicles. This form tends to create a general thinning across the scalp and not the full bone dome appearance. Although thinning of the follicles may be attributed to other factors such as post menopausal where the follicles tend to thin out as a matter of fact. A hair restoration specialist using specialized hair restorers or physician can help with the diagnosis.
Child birth.
It is common for women to feel the effects of an hormonal imbalance during this time. During the birth cycle less hair is shed causing the appearance of a bountiful head of hair.
After the birth when the hormonal balance resumes the shedding cycle returns to normal giving the appearance of thinner hair.
Trichotillomania.
Compulsive hair pulling creating patches of baldness. An emotional state that can be stopped by psychological counseling.
Triangular alopecia.
This can start as early as childhood and occurs in the temporal region of the head. The cause is unknown but can be medically treated.
Stress.
Stress can cause the shedding of hair as can drug abuse and poor nutrition. The hair follicles are forced prematurely into a shedding phase.
Hormonal therapies.
Progesterone and other hormonal therapies can restrict the development of new hair follicles.
Early puberty.
The effects of early puberty and hair thinning can start in the late teens and into the twenties and if left untreated can lead to an advanced stage of hair loss.
So believing that you do suffer from a treatable form of hair loss what resources are there that will help alleviate the problem
First and foremost.
Diagnosis. Physicians and specialists in hair problems. Many and varied. Be sure to find a recommended one.
Surgery would be deemed as a last resort for many. Involving among other treatments, plugs of hair being cut from the area's containing hair, generally the neck area and transplanted into the problem area. This does work and there are many specialized hair surgeons with satisfied customer lists out there for the finding. A definite favorite of the rich and famous. One problem though is that in the case of (MPB) the hair behind and around the transplanted area will continue to recede.
Hair treatments.
There are many varied brands and types out there all claiming astounding results. The best will offer a full guarantee with a full money refund. I would recommend using only a long established retailer for hair restoration products. One that does give guarantees, has FDA approved products and makes the process of hair restoration a pleasant one.
I hope this short article has been of some help to you in understanding the process of female hair loss. The knowledge base is now out there, for men and women but unfortunately for me it is 30 years to late.

Wed, 08 Feb 2012 23:21:28 GMT Apple's patent plea: Stop Samsung and Motorola from holding us hostage (Digital Trends)
Digital Trends - The world of patent licensing often seems like a maze of twisty little passages, all alike, but every so often the industry stumbles into a new tunnel — or, at least, one that seems new at first glance. Such is the case with Apple, which has asked the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) to establish a set of basic principles governing so-called fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory (FRAND) licensing of patented technologies included in wireless communications standards. That sentence may make many consumers’ eyes glaze over, but it boils down to this: Apple wants rules saying that if a company contributes their technology to a standard, they don’t get to use that technology to beat up competitors who use that standard.

Wed, 08 Feb 2012 20:22:33 GMT The U.S. and China: A Duel to the Debt (The Motley Fool)
The Motley Fool - In this period of "exceptional uncertainty" (to quote Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke), where can investors turn for a considered perspective on the current environment? Produced to feed the beast of the 24-hour news cycle, the bulk of financial journalism and commentary today isn't worth the servers it is stored on. One notable exception to that rule is Buttonwood, the financial markets column of The Economist. Philip Coggan is the columnist -- arguably the most influential position in financial journalism (along with the head of Lex at the Financial Times).
